I am sitting at my computer, looking out the window thinking about how quickly the summer passed by. It is heading into the fall season and as the wind has picked up, the acorns from the oak tree are pelting down hitting my collection of watering cans.
The squirrels are cavorting around the remains of a walnut tree that was left after its untimely death a couple of years ago. I could not bear to have it cut down totally so there is a fifteen foot “stump” left for them to still play on. They will occasionally perch on the top and look down upon their kingdom as they chatter at me. They are impudent little rascals, but I love to watch them.
This week has been particularly exciting for me. My fourth children’s book, Sadie Meets A Monarch, has been published and is receiving quite a bit of recognition. I did not write them with that in mind, but it is nice when people are interested in the work I do. When you do something simply for the love of the craft it is nice that there is validation that it has indeed spoken to the heart of someone.
Something To Ponder
